Bulk bags Hazardous material  UN 13H3Y & 13H2Y

We present you the Bulk bag classified UN.

To be able to contain hazardous materials and products, the bulk bag must meet certain quality and hazard display criteria.

An indelible and specific marking must appear on the bulk bag classified UN in order to inform of contents when it is filled.

The bigbags that we present are not suitable for the storage of very dangerous materials (group I), nor for moderately dangerous materials (group II). They are reserved for the storage and transport of slightly hazardous materials.

The regulatory marking visible on the outside of the bulk bag must include:

- 13H3, corresponding to the bulk bag plastic code with lining followed by an X, Z or Y.

- 13H2 corresponding to the code without lining followed by X, Z or Y, or

Depending on the product to be packaged, the dangerous goods transport label must be affixed. The bulk bag 13H3Y and 13H2Y are only suitable for 7 product classes.

Important : Our UN BulkBags are all neutral pictograms and mandatory labels on the transport of dangerous goods. Depending on the dangerous products you store in bags, you will have to visibly add these pictograms and transport label yourself.

What is Volume ?

It is used to measure the theoretical capacity of your bag. Normal manufacturing tolerances can increase or decrease the filling volume by a few percent. If you load your asbestos bag with a homogeneous material such as powder or animal feed, the volume (associated with resistance) is the measure for your use. However, for packaging products of various shapes and sizes (e.g. bulk bag potatoes) there will naturally be a vacuum which limits the filling capacity.

Definition of the safety resistance

The SWL (safety weight load) specifies the weight limit above which the asbestos bag is no longer guaranteed and therefore better suited to the weight you need. There is a safety coefficient for the calculation of maximum resistances but we strongly advise against filling your Bulk Bag above the limit mentioned on each page of our products and on the safety labels present and sewn inside the sack.

What is the Grammage canva ?

The thickness of the fabric is expressed in grammage, measured in grams per square metre (gr/m²). A heavy weight indicates a strong thickness of the canvas. The thickness improves the resistance to the filling weight and also allows the bag to be approved as reusable (class SF 6/1). On the other hand, the more traditional thicknesses are SF 5/1 standard, for single use.

With a higher thickness, the resistance to shocks, cutting, shearing, and heavy products will be higher.

Storage conditions

Empty asbestos Bags can be stored outdoors even for an extended period of time provided it is protected and the weather (rain, hail, sun) cannot be in direct contact.

However, we advise and prefer storage indoors and away from the sun's rays to avoid alterations due to excessive exposure to ultraviolet rays.

Handling conditions

The handling and filling conditions depend entirely on the model.

For example, if your asbestos bag is equipped with 4 standard or crossed straps (cross-corner) you can handle them by inserting the carriage forks into its 4 lifting points.

Once loaded, you can also place it on a handling pallet of appropriate dimensions for storage and shipping.

For example, when used frequently, the asbestos container bag, filled and placed on a pallet, can be racked directly.

Or the 3 or 5 skids stacking system allows you to stack safely.
